Unlike many actual video games, Blackvoxel get away from the photo-realistic style for a more inhabitual sci-fi "computer abstract-style" looking.
The world of Blackvoxel is made of fixed square zones mapped in concentric square rings.
The player start in the central area and discovers new zones, landscapes, resources and problems to solve as he moves away from the center.
